Delicious Arabic Foods in Qatar

Fresh, healthy, tasty and aromatic – it’s not surprising that the past decade has seen Middle Eastern cuisine’s global profile soaring.

I had the opportunity to learn about Arabic culture and experience its way of life while residing in the Middle East as an expat. But much more so, the opportunity to sample various and delectable variations of several Arabic cuisines was the highlight of my expat experience in Qatar.

If you are looking to try some authentic dishes whether it is Qatari, Moroccan, Syrian, Egyptian or Lebanese cuisines, these are some of the best and delicious Arabic foods you can find in Qatar.

HUMMUS

Delicious Hummus in Qatar


Hummus is a dip, spread, or savory dish made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. It is popular in the Middle East and Mediterranean, as well as in Middle Eastern cuisine around the globe.

ARAYIS

Flavorful Arayis


Coming from the Levantine cuisine, this lovely dish is made with minced lamb meat.

TABOULEH

Tasty Tabouleh in Qatar


Tabbouleh is a Levantine vegetarian salad made mostly of finely chopped parsley, with tomatoes, mint, onion, bulgur, and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, salt and sweet pepper. Some variations add lettuce, or use semolina instead of bulgur. Tabbouleh is traditionally served as part of a mezze in the Arab world

SHAWARMA


Shawarma is a dish in Middle Eastern cuisine consisting of meat cut into thin slices, stacked in a cone-like shape, and roasted on a slowly-turning vertical rotisserie or spit. Originally made of lamb or mutton, today’s shawarma may also be chicken, turkey, beef, or veal.

KEFTA KEBAB

Delicious Kefta, Arabic Food


Kefta is ground beef or lamb, typically mixed with cumin, paprika, minced onion, coriander, and parsley. … The kefta kebabs are delicious with a fresh salad and a side of couscous, as well as served on bread with tomato and roasted pepper salad. It is also the foundation of a number of other Moroccan dishes.

FALAFEL


Falafel is a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both. Falafel is a traditional Middle Eastern food, commonly served in a pita, which acts as a pocket, or wrapped in a flatbread known as taboon; “falafel” also frequently refers to a wrapped sandwich that is prepared in this way.

    I’ve worked in Dubai so I’m quite familiar with Arabic food. My favorite is definitely kebab! I love its rich taste and how affordable their foods are.
